Origin and history of gambling
Gambling has been largely associated to the United States, but surprisingly, gambling did not come from the United States, opposite from what many of us believe. Many of the gambling games played today have foreign origins.
Another country we could associate gambling with is China. This is because China has been the abode of a number of gambling games. Keno, for example, is a popular Chinese game, which is believed by many to be the origin of modern-day lotteries. Today, Keno is played in different versions in many casinos in the whole wide world, owed to the passing of times. Alongside with Keno is Pai Gow, which is one very old Chinese game. Pai Gow mixed with definite fundamentals of poker makes Pai Gow Poker. It is an appealing and uncomplicated gambling game, appreciated by people worldwide and played in a great number of casinos.
Other than China, we have some European countries to owe gambling too. European games have also been popular games in the world of casinos. Examples of these European gambling games are Baccarat, Roulette and Black jack.
Other than the games mentioned in the paragraph above, gambling through the spectator sports like horse racing, for example, has become famous. A new sport was born in England in the 17oo's. Afterward, the game moved to the United States, and the traditions of the game stayed comparatively unaffected, unlike what became of the Chinese Keno.
Another observer sport emerged, and is now known as the Jai Alai. Jai Alai, because of its pace and relative briefness has turned out to be a distinctive gambling sport. As of present, Florida is still the center of Jai Alai.
The history of gambling has seen another phase, and this is the phenomenon of internet gambling. Although the history of internet is still young, but even in the little time the somewhat new idea of online gambling market has served up a test to the conventional laws of communication in still uncharted traditions.
A wide variation of gambling games is being played nowadays. Not only the regular pokers, but also blackjack, and slot machines are available in online gambling. Really, there is something for everybody.

Today, online gambling has stirred up the policies against gambling, and may legislation issues emerge from it. What we need now are proper laws and policies regarding online gambling.
